The Valley of the Temples of Agrigento is one of the largest archaeological sites in the Mediterranean. Situated on the southern coast of Sicily, it bears witness to the grandeur of ancient Greek civilization and attracts thousands of visitors every year to admire its remains, which have been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997.
Founded in the 6th century BC under the name ofAkragasthe ancient Greek city already radiated power and wealth. Today, it remains an inescapable symbol of Sicilian history and culture.
